Where Progress Meets Compassion
Here at Sommers Lane, we believe every horse has a story – and we’re here to help write the next chapter with care, patience, and expert guidance. Whether you’re starting a young horse, tuning up a seasoned show partner, or helping a beloved companion heal, our training and rehabilitation services are built around the individual needs of each horse and rider.
Our comprehensive programs include:
Behavior modification and trust-building exercises
Support for physical recovery after injury or surgery
Specialized care for horses with metabolic issues like Cushing’s or insulin resistance
Customized feeding programs and therapeutic routines
What makes us different? We take the time to truly know your horse-their quirks, their fears, and what lights them up. We work closely with veterinarians and equine wellness pros to ensure each plan is not only effective, but kind. From the playful ponies to the stoic seniors, we’re committed to guiding them forward with empathy and heart.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about riding better – it’s about helping horses feel better, inside and out.

Our on-site farrier’s meticulous approach to barefoot trimming not only prevents common hoof problems but also promotes overall health and performance, making her trimming skills an invaluable asset to our team. Additionally, her expertise in the application of glue-on shoes enhances performance and provides crucial support for rehabilitation. These innovative shoes offer a flexible and secure solution that protects damaged hooves and aids in their recovery, ensuring that our horses remain healthy and competitive.
Harmony Vaulters provides a fun and engaging way to improve balance, coordination, and confidence. This dynamic discipline is suitable for those without equestrian experience. The program aims to compete at regional and national competitions, yet ranges from beginner to advanced vaulting. We accept 8 years to young adult and may accommodate adult programming upon request – Vaulting is a great way to improve body mechanics of the rider and harmony and connection to the horse.
Our Littles’ Program is tailored for children ages 3–7, with individualized accommodations as needed. We introduce your child to the joy of horses in a safe, nurturing environment.
Your little rider will learn:
Safe movement around horses
Grooming, tacking up, leading, and mounting
Balance, posture, and gentle communication through reins and leg aids
It’s more than just pony rides – it’s about planting seeds of confidence, kindness, and a lifelong love for animals.
